Dangerous men flash razorblades In the moonlight overlooking The courting-place of your masquerades The smell of cheap meat cooking Blindly accept the wisdom of the crowd Stop all that singing, it's too damn loud! Morning comes to consume the street One by one the lights burn out Children run with their muddy feet Where you tossed the leaves about Read your book of nonsense in a fashionable shroud Switch off that TV, it's too damn loud! Young mothers curse their evil luck The slums are old and haunted Death prowls the streets like a monster truck Your fleshy thoughts unwanted See your freedoms vanish in a mushroom cloud Turn down that music, it's too damn loud!

I tried to make you understand But things just keep repeating I tried to make them go away But things just keep repeating Keep on breaking down I tried to use my hands when I Should know that pens are better Never had the strength to change the ways These things just keep repeating Keep on breaking down Spell was broken in the end Not sure if it was worth it Never mind you know the thought was there But you were well beneath it Keep on breaking down

A hungry man Is an angry man He needs the world To hear his demands To see the face he had Before he was born See the lion and The unicorn The beginning, the middle And the end of art A life that was over Before it could start The scars and bruises The broken fingernails The lies and excuses And Molotov cocktails Who are these people? What do they want? What do they know or believe? Where are they going? What have they done? What do they hope to achieve? Between the minutes of silence And cinematic shrines Based on a true story Ripped from the headlines Distracted by The pleasure and noise The more they attempt The more they destroy They don't even wait For the water to boil Before mixing up trouble Wearing hats of tinfoil And meanwhile, over In Tinseltown The lion and the unicorn Fight for the crown Who are these people? What are they hiding? What are they trying to say? Why are they angry? Why are they shouting? What was it made them this way?

It was a dark day At the end of May The month of religion and crying I had a black eye Don't remember why I get into fights without trying There was a loud crash Sound of breaking glass Someone must have smashed a window And then running feet On the city street I think they were looting the Tesco Then the sun broke through And the ravens flew Searching for a new gothic writer And the years unreel Like a spinning wheel The future couldn't be any brighter By the afternoon Of the honeymoon The bride and the groom were not talking And the brigadier Made it crystal clear None of the wounded were going to be walking The sighs of sad men Time and time again The weight of the world on their shoulders And the roaches crawl Up the bathroom wall Singing "Onward Christian Soldiers" Try to understand As you take my hand How we came to this conclusion Though my lines of verse May be crude and terse I apologise for any confusion There is no space for your stupid face No hiding place for your deep disgrace You've got no future, you've got no friends You'll never work in this town again
