1.
A summary of all the parts of the plan broken schematic at the heart of a man Difference and engines are deployed at the height Of a sign and as wide of the mark that began diligent recounting of the dream that disappeared accurate retelling of the monster you feared That was trapped inside the boxes stacked in your head Because the truth is the protocol is already dead Deference in public and then sharpen your knives We recall the sound of sheep and running for our lives That were lived within the rules but we dreamed another way Where the skies were full of words that we could never say All the protocols one two three and four Deliberate intentions to keep even the score Parameters and boundaries left open and bare Because protocol one was never there Circumstance, You and I everything and nothing you and I Brittle chance, Us and them We are bound and we are free and we are broken
2.
Bicycles on fire Imprisoned in barbed wire Crafted in the name of art Years ago and miles apart Cold hands reach out to embrace Look at the clock without a face Encounter no resistance here Something awful's drawing near Outside in the winter's night Nature paralysed with fright Future schemes, unwritten tales Itchy skin, blunt fingernails Reveal the landscape of the past Each bright hope is fading fast But it may well all end here In the church of shame and fear Can we halt this puppet-show? You walked away, I let you go Crash and burn, but don't look back Lights go out, the room is black Engines fuelled by passion's heat Standing idle on the street One last chance to ease the pain Nothing ventured, nothing gained From the start we had no guide Innocent and starry-eyed Rest assured, you'll have your proof Everyone else knows the truth

about

The Ernie Protocols see our intrepid duo delving deeper and deeper
into bitter, alienated and dysfunctional territory that skirts the boundaries of love, technology, the brute force breaking of laws yet to be invented.

And all of this based on a little known fact; Perry Como played piano on Benny Hill's "Ernie (The Fastest Milkman in the West)". We know this to be true and incontrovertible.

"Overhead, without any fuss, the stars were going out."
